Often described as the greatest railway journey in the world, this Souvenir film of the Jacobite Steam Train is for all those who've ever travelled on the train, and all those who've ever dreamed of doing so.
Filmed at over 50 trackside locations, this 70-minute video follows ex-LMS Black Five No.45407, 'The Lancashire Fusilier'*, as she steams her way across viaducts and through tunnels on the 42 mile journey from Fort William to Mallaig.
Also included is footage of the Fort William Junction Yard, as well as shots of the glorious Scottish countryside and the wildlife to be found en-route. The casing includes a 4-page booklet with information on The Jacobite locomotives, the center of which is a map of the route so you can follow the journey both on-screen and off.
The video itself is free of commentary, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the locomotive in all her glory.
*(Sister engine Black Five No.44871 occasionally substitutes for distance shots)
